KATHRIN WINTERHALTER

 

A native of Germany, Kathrin Winterhalter is a former Fresno State Bulldog with All-American honors and is the Co-Founder of 2WTENNIS.  She reached the finals of the prestigious All-American Doubles Championships, the NCAA Doubles Championships and won the ITA Northwest Regional Doubles Championships.  In Singles, Kathrin garnered an impressive 105 wins putting her 4th in the record book. 

 

Prior to co-founding 2WTENNIS, Kathrin served as the Associate Head Coach at Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga.  During her 6 seasons, the Gaels have enjoyed unprecedented success, winning the program’s first ever WCC Championship title in 2010 to earn their first trip to the NCAA Tournament, and then receiving at large bids to the NCAA Championships in 2011, 2012, and 2013. 

 

Prior to her time with the Gaels, Kathrin served as Volunteer Assistant Coach for her Alma Mater and worked as the Associate Head Tennis Professional at Fig Garden Swim & Racquet Club.  

 

As a student of the game, Kathrin is certified as an USPTA Elite Professional (formerly known as P1) as well as a PTR 10 & Under Professional, and has a Master’s degree in Kinesiology.  Kathrin has worked closely with the USTA Northern California in implementing the ITA Summer Circuit in Northern California as well as pioneering the use of the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) in events.  

 

Kathrin is extremely passionate about tennis and is excited to be back in the Fresno Community.  Most recently, she has accepted the position of Head Assistant Tennis Coach for the Fresno City Rams and is excited to pair up with Chantel Wiggins to coach college athletes as well as junior and adult players.

 

Coaching Accomplishments at Saint Mary’s College:

- 4 consecutive bids to the NCAA Division I Tournament 

- 2010 West Coast Conference Tournament Champion

- 2013 West Coast Conference Regular Season Champion 

- Beat #7 Stanford – only 3rd team to beat Stanford at home since 1999

- Singles ITA Northwest Regional Finalist (Jenny Jullien)

- Singles USTA/ITA National Indoor Quarterfinalist (Jenny Jullien)
